I sketch first, ink it up and scan it in! I use illustrator to live trace my drawing using the custom settings then I add textures in photoshop. Thanks so much!

Thanks! I do all the drawing by hand but the coloring happens on the computer. I do use a lot of handmade textures but I do use PS brushes time to time to make textures.
It’s a pretty simple process. Having a nice tight drawing is key. I start with a pencil sketch, then I re-draw a tighter version of it with pencil. Then I use a light table to ink the drawing using uniball pens or copic pens (sometimes I use brushes, nib pens I like to mix it up time to time) from the pencil drawing and scan that in. I use illustrator to live trace it and pick colors. Then I bring it into photoshop to add textures for scans or PS brushes. Nothing too fancy!

We’re hosting a Pedalpalooza Ride Friday, June 22nd! Please join us that as evening we ride from Peninsula Park to Magnetic North to enjoy a screening of “Breaking Away,” free beer and a cozy campfire. We’ll have fresh new art in the gallery and live screenprinting so be sure to bring a shirt!
We are meeting at Peninsula Park in North Portland at 8:00pm and leave at 8:30pm for a short ride to Magnetic North.
